Album 1993/1994 (1,43 x 1,53 mtr. - 23 silverprints & 2 C-Type prints in custom wood frames)
During two succesive trips I traveled the distance of 1012 kilometer the river La Loire takes from it's source at the Mont Gerbier de Jonc to where it empties into the Atlantic Ocean near St. Nazaire. La Loire is the longest European river which stays within the borders of one country: France. I photographed the river with a 6x12 cm back mounted on the large format Cambo Wide camera. Except for the first and last image I contact-printed the panorama's. The title of the work is meant as an hommage to the 19th century albums.
